We are excited to have you join our teen volunteer team! Learn more about available adult volunteer opportunities and becoming a volunteer.

You must be at least 12 years old to serve as a volunteer at the library.

Reading Pals – Big Pal at George Reynolds Branch Library Must be available on Tuesdays and/or Saturdays 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. George Reynolds Branch Library Partner up with a child in grades K -3 (a Little Pal) to serve as a role model for once-a-week reading and word games. Each Little Pal will be paired with a Big Pal in 9th to 12th grade. This program promotes literacy skills and a love of reading for children in early elementary school in a comfortable and supportive environment. Fall session starts the week of September 11 and runs through November 10.  Apply to be a Big Pal
Teen Space Volunteer- Saturdays TBD 10 am – 12 pm Main Library Folding Books Project and General Assistance in the Teen Space at the Main Library – fold books to be on display and help with other project in the Teen Space; help prepare materials for youth programs; clean and organize the Teen Space and Children’s area; help with office tasks and more. We ask that you try to sign up for at least 2 slots yet prefer that you sign up for regular volunteering.

Children’s Programs Event Volunteer As needed. Next Children’s event – Sunday, May 20 2 – 4:30 pm Main Library Help with Children programming. Volunteer duties often entail setting up activities, organization/distribution of supplies, assist participants in doing the craft, and assist with setup before and takedown after the program.
Purl Jam 1st Sunday of each month 3:45 – 5:45 pm Meadows Branch Library Come support our Teen knitting program for boys and girls in 6th-12th grade. Help with room setup and takedown as well as supporting the program facilitator with necessary tasks during the session. Seeking 1 volunteer to support the program.
Cleaning and Administrative Assistance in the Children’s Area Sundays, on an on-call basis 12 – 1:30 pm Main Library Help ensure everything is in order and the books and items in the Children’s area stay clean.
Shelf Reading After attending initial training, you can set your own schedule To be determined Main Library Help ensure the books are in order and ready for the community to access. We ask that if you are going to become a volunteer in this capacity, you commit to coming into the library on a regular basis for at least 1 hour per week and are able to commit to being involved for at least three months (hopefully even more).
M-TAB (Meadows Teen Advisory Board) 3rd Sunday of each month -Starting in September 4 – 5 pm Meadows Branch Library Get involved with an organization you love – your library! Plan teen library events, recommend books, earn community service and volunteer hours, hang out with friends, meet new people and have fun! First meeting to be held in September 2018. Boulder Teen Advisory Board – Main Library Third Wednesday of each month 4:30 – 5:30 pm Main Library Have a voice in what happens at your library! The Teen Advisory Board meets once a month to organize teen library events, decide what will be added to the teen library collection, and discuss ways to improve lives for Boulder County teens. Participation in the Advisory Board looks great on resumes and college applications with the added bonus of positive change in your community. Interested in being a member? Teen Advisory Group at George Reynolds Branch Library Second Sunday of each month 2:30 pm George Reynolds Branch Library Have a voice in what happens at your library! The Teen Advisory Group meets once a month to organize teen library events, decide what will be added to the teen library collection, and discuss ways to improve lives for teens. It is open to teens in grades 6-12 for event planning, socializing and snacks. Join us to help create exciting programs like Teen Murder Mystery, DIY, and Haunted Library.
