Boulder Public Library has been in the process of updating our master plan for 20 months, and we are now in the final phase: Synthesis of information and drafting action plan strategies. We’ve benefitted from your participation and input, having received thousands of pieces of feedback, which is essential to a successful master plan. The master plan will guide library programs and services for the next several years, and the master plan goals are intended to reflect community aspirations and priorities, by putting library resources and staff skills in the service of the community. The next steps include:
- Drafting the master plan document, and reviewing draft sections with the Library Commission at their monthly meetings. The next Library Commission meeting is Weds., March 7, from 6-8 p.m. at the Meadows Branch Library.
- Gathering information about possibly forming a library district funding and governance model.
- Going before Boulder City Council in July for consideration of adoption of the Library Master Plan.
