Boulder Public Library Makerspaces
BLDG 61 and STUDIO 24 are free community workshops dedicated to hands-on learning and the cultivation of purposeful experiences through making.
Our fantastic maker Deirdre created backdrops for a Star Wars extravaganza last year, using our laser cutter to create the buttons in the cockpit on the exquisitely detailed Millennium Falcon. May the 4th be with you!

We have one seat left in Saturday’s STUDIO 24 workshop on Making Accessible Toys and Tools! We will be switching-adapting some pre-selected toys!
“Switch-adapting” is a process where electronic tools and toys can be made more accessible by adding a much larger button or switch to operate them. This supports children and adults with disabilities in participating in meaningful experiences that might otherwise be inaccessible, such as play, cooking, or controlling their environment.
In this beginner-friendly workshop, you will be guided through creating a switch-adapted tool or toy using makerspace materials like 3D printed buttons, and makerspace skills like simple soldering. No prior experience is required, we will provide structured step-by-step guidance.

Stop by STUDIO 24 tomorrow between 4-5:30 to explore Electronics Studio! Meet Maker-in-Residence Ayesha Wilson, tour the space, and get a taste of electronics studio activities like making a simple circuit, or controlling an animatronic parrot.

We learned how to solder for electronics and made some delightful glowing pins in the first “Soldering project of the month” workshop! We’ll have another soldering workshop in May and June.
Bonus- swipe to get a peek of the fun & functional soldering stations that Robby made for our French cleat wall. A workshop storage dream come true!

Introducing FIX-IT FRIDAYS! Things get messy in our Boulder Library Makerspaces like this filtration unit for screen printing ink. Every 2nd Friday of the month we’ll be closing both spaces to take time to maintain, organize, and clean the tools of our makerspace to ensure things are working in tip top condition.
